The newly expanded snowmaking pond is now three times larger, which will allow it to hold more cold water. Why’s that important? Cold water is the secret ingredient to that beautiful snow powder that makes for perfect ski and snowboarding conditions.
Expanding the area’s snowmaking capacity and efficiency will create a better guest experience overall and should help our team produce more snow in the early season and allow us to extend our snowmaking sessions later into the season as well. More snow and longer snowmaking sessions will allow us to have as much terrain open as possible for winter family fun, all season long.
Previously during periods of warmer weather or a lack of snowfall, the smaller snowmaking pond could not keep up with demand. At times, this caused delays in snowmaking and a lack of snow, which meant fewer ski and snowboarding opportunities for guests, and no one wants that! Our team is very excited to be able to grow the ski area’s capacity and provide a positive experience for our awesome visitors.
Now all that's left to do is to fill 'er up!

Keep an eye on our Facebook or Instagram pages for updates.
