Winter Tree Identification: Part 2

Posted on 2/12/2021
by Rene Stroud, Naturalist
Put your winter tree ID skills to work as you head out in the field for some practice.

Last week we looked at the basic steps to take when you want to identify a deciduous tree in winter & you don't have any leaves to help you. (Check out that blog post here).

This week we are going to take our practice outdoors & see how these skills work in the real world.

Ready to strike out on your own this winter? Don't forget to take along your Winter Tree Identification Key, created by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point!
