Join us at Hitchcock Nature Center on Sunday, May 9th at 3:30 p.m. for Building Better Birders: Guided Birding Hike & learn more about the birds that call the Loess Hills home. This workshop will be conducted by Kelly McKay (BioEco Research and Monitoring Center), with assistance from Mark Roberts (Clinton County Conservation) and Brian Ritter (Nahant Marsh Education Center) & is being presented as part of the Building Better Birders programming series.
This program is open to all ages but is geared toward participants age 12 & over. There is no cost to attend this workshop. Pre-registration is required as space is limited.
This is the last of five Building Better Birders workshops scheduled for Sunday, May 9th at Hitchcock Nature Center.
6:00 a.m. - Sunrise Guided Birding Hike
8:30 a.m. - Introduction to the Warblers of Iowa
10:30 a.m. - Mid-Morning Guided Birding Hike
1:30 p.m. - Introduction to Sparrows, Tanagers, Grosbeaks, Buntings, and Similar Species of Iowa
3:30 p.m. - Afternoon Guided Birding Hike

Building Better Birders is a programming series designed to improve the bird identification skills of local citizens & promote a greater interest in citizen science programming. Workshops are presented free of charge & supported by the Resource Enhancement and Protection - Conservation Education Program (REAP-CEP).
