Hitchcock Insect Club is a grassroots club made up of local individuals who are passionate about bugs, and they want YOU to join in the fun!
This month's featured insect will be presented by Maelee Rodenburg, environmental education intern at Hitchcock Nature Center.
The main program will be presented by Dr. Charles Brockhouse of Creighton University. His program is entitled "An Introduction to Black Flies (Simuliidae): From Galapagos to Ghana.” He will give an overview of the biology of the black fly family and describe some of the work he has done in the Galapagos and on the African species that transmits River Blindness.
The presentation will start at 6:30 p.m. but you are welcome to join a group walkabout beforehand at 5:30 p.m. Participation is free with a park membership or $5 park entry fee. Please meet at the Loess Hills Lodge.
