Join us for a creative morning to paint native wildflowers! We will learn about the flowers of the prairie and paint the ones we find along the trail using watercolors. Come get your very own watercolor set to take home and discover what makes our local ecosystem unique all while developing a greater appreciation for the beauty nature provides.

Painting supplies will be provided. Please note that easels and chairs will not be provided and we will be sitting along the trail as we paint. Sign up now as spaces are limited.

No experience with art is necessary to register. $10 per person. Ages 12+, please. Weather permitting.

Please meet in the Bluestem Room (downstairs) at the Loess Hills Lodge at 9:00 a.m.

Presenters:

Laurie is our summer teacher extern and is the art teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs. She will lead a short tutorial on watercolor painting. Amy, our Environmental Education Coordinator, will talk briefly about native flowers of the prairie.

Guests may cancel their reservation for a full refund up to 1 week (7 days) prior to the program date by calling 712-545-3283 and speaking with staff directly. Processing fees will not be refunded. Cancellations received less than 1 week (7 days) in advance of the event will not be refunded. Fees for programs cancelled by Pottawattamie Conservation due to weather or other circumstances will be fully refunded.
